The Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) has issued a public warning regarding 26 unauthorized lenders offering fraudulent credit services to consumers. Fraudsters are contacting individuals via unsolicited emails, social media channels such as Facebook and WhatsApp, and online advertisements, exploiting consumers seeking financing. According to the regulator, these operations offer fake loans designed to steal money from victims. The operators often impersonate legitimate, licensed credit institutions or registered intermediaries, using their names and logos in classic 'cloned firm' scams. They lure victims with promises of large loans at exceptionally low interest rates without performing standard creditworthiness or background checks. Before disbursing the promised funds, the scammers demand upfront payments under the guise of insurance premiums, application costs, legal fees, or administrative charges. These fees are entirely fictitious. Once the victim transfers the money, the perpetrators vanish, leaving the victim with financial losses and no credit provided. The FSMA has identified the following fraudulent websites and entities: - Abis Finance (www.abisfinance.com) - Alenas Finance (www.alenasfinance.com) - Alenas Services (www.alenas-services.com) - Bridge groep (www.bridgegroep.com) - Financien Dessers (Clone) (www.financiendessers.com, www.financiendessersbe.com) - Finaria group (www.finariagroup.com) - First lenen (www.firstlenen.com, www.firstlening.com) - Geld Group Dienst (www.geld-groupdienst.com) - Granon Service (www.granon-service.com) - Horee Group (www.horee-group.com) - Hovyxa (www.hovyxa.com) - Imperix Service (www.imperix-service.com) - Euro Financiering (www.krediet.pro) - Lasne Finance (Clone) (www.lasne-finance.be) - Optia Banking (www.optiabanking.com) - Optima Credit (www.optima-cred.com) - Optima Finanz (www.optimafinanz.com) - Paradis Services (www.paradis-services.com) - Zebrov (www.zebrov.com) - Zeker lenen (www.zekerlenen.com) Additionally, several unauthorized operators without standalone websites contact consumers directly via social media or email: - Aides financières - Groep Finanz Expert - Lumia Bank - Online leningen.be - Snelle Online Lening - Vlaamskrediet The FSMA strongly advises the public to remain vigilant against unsolicited credit proposals, to reject offers requiring upfront fee payments, and to verify whether a provider holds the necessary authorization using the official FSMA register before engaging in any transaction.
