The Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) of Belgium has updated its archive of public warnings, drawing attention to a wide array of fraudulent trading platforms, unauthorized entities, and investment scams operating across the market.
According to the regulatory alerts, fraudulent operators frequently use aggressive solicitation tactics, promising high returns through bogus online trading software, artificial intelligence investment programs, and social media promotions featuring unauthorized celebrity likenesses. Consumers are often lured into parting with funds through initial small deposits before being pressured into escalating commitments.
The regulator has highlighted several specific entities and unauthorized domains in its notices, including Derwent Investments (derwentinv.com), ARBIONIS-BE.COM, BTC20.com, CNR Invest, AB INVESTMENT, Validus, Antares (antares.trade), as well as boiler room operators such as IWL Consulting (iwlconsulting.com), May Capital Group (maycapitalgroup.com), and South Pass Partners (southpasspartners.com).
In addition to unauthorized brokers and high-pressure boiler rooms, the FSMA issued specific cautions regarding recovery room fraud. In these schemes, scammers contact previously defrauded victims while posing as legal representatives, recovery specialists, or even regulatory officials from the FSMA itself, demanding upfront fees under the false pretense of retrieving lost funds.
Investors are strongly urged to verify the authorization of any financial firm or platform before transferring money or sharing personal data, and to remain cautious of unsolicited investment tips distributed via WhatsApp, social media networks, or fake promotional campaigns.
