The Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) of Belgium has issued a public warning regarding unauthorized entities offering fraudulent investment products to consumers. According to the regulator, scammers are actively targeting individuals with offers to invest in tangible assets, specifically precious metals without physical delivery and electric vehicle (EV) charging station networks, commonly promoted as "eco-parkings." These fraudulent offers are typically marketed as high-yield alternatives to traditional savings accounts. Fraudsters frequently lure victims through deceptive advertisements published on social media platforms and fake news websites. Once interest is captured, perpetrators follow up via unsolicited telephone calls and email correspondence to persuade victims to transfer funds. The FSMA emphasizes that these alternative investment products are being promoted without the required regulatory authorizations. Furthermore, several of the operators behind these schemes are actively impersonating established multinational energy companies to gain credibility. The FSMA highlighted the following unauthorized websites and contact details: - fyamcapital.com: Operating via email addresses including [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]. - monacces.shellrecharges.eu: Utilizing the email address [email protected] to unlawfully impersonate the energy company Shell. - plenitudeeurope.com: Utilizing email addresses such as [email protected] and [email protected] to unlawfully impersonate Eni. None of these platforms or entities are authorized to offer investment services or products in Belgium. The FSMA strongly advises investors not to respond to any financial offers from these operators and to avoid transferring money to any bank accounts provided by them. To safeguard against clone firms and investment scams, the regulator advises consumers to verify the exact corporate identity and regulatory status of any investment provider prior to making payments. Investors should carefully inspect domain names and email addresses to detect impersonation. Anyone who suspects they have been approached by an unauthorized entity is urged to contact the FSMA or file a complaint with local law enforcement.
