The Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) has published an urgent warning regarding fraudulent investment schemes being promoted to the public. Consumers have reported receiving unsolicited offers to invest in precious metals without physical delivery, as well as in "ecoparking" networks involving electric vehicle charging stations. These fraudulent schemes are typically marketed through deceptive advertisements on social media and fake news websites. Scammers then follow up with victims via direct phone calls and emails. To entice investors, the promoters promise high financial yields, presenting these alternative products as safe and profitable alternatives to standard savings accounts. However, the operators lack the necessary authorizations to market or manage financial investments. According to the FSMA, some of these operations act as clone firms that unlawfully impersonate well-known global energy brands, including Shell and Eni, to fabricate an appearance of legitimacy. The regulatory authority has identified the following unauthorized platforms and associated email addresses: 1. fyamcapital.com (associated contact emails: [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]) 2. monacces.shellrecharges.eu (associated contact email: [email protected]), which impersonates Shell 3. plenitudeeurope.com (associated contact emails: [email protected] and [email protected]), which impersonates Eni None of the aforementioned entities are authorized to provide financial or investment services in Belgium. The FSMA strongly cautions consumers against responding to any proposals from these companies or sending money to the bank accounts they provide. The FSMA urges investors to remain cautious regarding alternative investment proposals. Individuals should always verify whether a company holds the requisite regulatory authorization and verify the authenticity of contact details to prevent falling victim to clone firms. Anyone who has transferred funds to these operators should report the incident to local police or judicial authorities.
