The Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) of Belgium has issued a comprehensive public warning concerning the proliferation of fraudulent online trading platforms. Scammers are aggressively targeting consumers across social media and messaging channels, leveraging deceptive tactics such as fake celebrity endorsements to lure investors into sophisticated financial traps.
According to the FSMA, the fraudulent schemes typically begin with deceptive marketing channels. Fraudsters deploy fake advertisements featuring well-known public figures, set up specialized recruitment websites, create fake profiles on dating apps or social networks, or initiate contact through unsolicited SMS and WhatsApp messages sent under the guise of an accidental message. Victims are promised unusually high returns in very short periods.
Once an investor registers, they are generally prompted to deposit an initial sum, often around 250 euros. In many instances, the scammers request remote access to the victim's computer under the pretense of assisting with deposits, which exposes the user to malware and spyware risks. Inside the platform, trading dashboards are manipulated to display fictitious profits. Fraudsters then apply intense psychological pressure—such as frequent phone calls, time-sensitive offers, or outright intimidation—to demand larger sums of money.
When investors attempt to withdraw their funds, the operators fabricate obstacles, demanding additional payments for purported taxes, administrative fees, or release charges. While a nominal withdrawal may occasionally be permitted early on to establish trust, substantial withdrawals are blocked, and the platform ultimately becomes unreachable.
The regulator identified several lead-generation websites actively channeling victims to fraudulent trading operations:
- Gas Folex (the-nft-profit.com)
- Immediate Apex (bitcoin-revolution.software, immediate-apex.com, immediateapexai.com)

The authority also cautions against secondary recovery scams, where fraudulent operators pose as recovery firms offering to retrieve lost funds for an upfront fee.
