FSMA Warning: Belgian Regulator Flags Five Fraudulent Credit and Loan Scam Websites

The Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) has issued a warning against five unauthorized entities offering fraudulent loans and upfront fee scams.

The Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) has issued a public warning regarding unauthorized lenders advertising fraudulent credit offers online and across social media platforms. According to the regulatory watchdog, scammers frequently reach out to victims through unsolicited emails, social media channels such as Facebook and WhatsApp, and misleading internet advertisements. Taking advantage of individuals looking to supplement their budgets, these illicit operators promote loan offers with unusually attractive conditions, such as high borrowing limits, extremely low interest rates, and no credit history checks. In reality, these schemes are designed to steal money through upfront fee fraud and identity theft. Fraudsters often pose as authorized lenders or registered credit intermediaries, sometimes cloning the names and logos of legitimate institutions. Consumers who respond are asked to pay advance fees—disguised as insurance premiums, authentication costs, or administrative charges—before receiving any loan. Once the victim pays these fictitious fees, the perpetrators cut all contact and disappear with the funds. The FSMA has identified five fraudulent websites operating without authorization: - Best Financiering (www.bestfinanciering.com) - Cepreco (www.ceprecogroup.com) - CSS befinancien (https://css-befinancien.com/) - Krediet Pro Finanz (www.kredietprofinanz.be) - Pac Finanx (www.pacfinanx.com) The FSMA strongly advises consumers not to respond to unsolicited loan offers and never to pay advance fees for credit. The regulator urges the public to verify whether a lender is officially registered and authorized on the FSMA website before entering into any financial transaction.
