The Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) has issued an urgent warning to the public regarding multiple fraudulent investment websites and companies falsely claiming to hold FSMA authorization.
According to the financial regulator, numerous consumers have reported being targeted by bogus investment entities that display fabricated FSMA certificates on their websites and in communications with potential victims. The FSMA confirmed that these certificates are entirely counterfeit and were neither created nor authorized by the regulator.
The FSMA identified several unauthorized entities utilizing these deceptive tactics:
- Aether Groups Inc. (aethergroups.com)
- Alphixmine Incorporation (alphixmine.com)
- B-Smartfolio Inc. (b-smartfolio.com)
- Dreamquest Ltd. (dreamquestlimited.com)
- Maxi Wealth Inc. (maxi-wealth.org)
- Mediterranean Holdings Limited (mediterraneanholdings.com)
- Rexivea Miners Inc.
None of these platforms are registered with the FSMA or authorized to provide financial services within or from Belgium. Because these operations appear to be conducting deliberate investment fraud, the FSMA has forwarded the cases to judicial authorities for further investigation.
In addition, the regulator warned investors against potential recovery fraud. The FSMA highlighted that it is not authorized to recover lost investment funds on behalf of consumers and never demands fees, taxes, or payments in exchange for regulatory assistance. The authority also reminds the public that it will never initiate contact asking for personal banking credentials or financial payments.
