The Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) has issued a public warning regarding unauthorized entities marketing deceptive investment offers as lucrative alternatives to traditional savings accounts. According to reports received by the FSMA, fraudulent operators are approaching consumers with offers to invest in various alternative assets, particularly cryptocurrencies and precious metals. Promoters promise exceptionally high returns, aiming to convince individuals to divert their personal savings into these schemes. In reality, these proposals are designed to defraud investors. Fraudsters typically initiate contact by telephone or email after prospective victims interact with online advertisements, particularly on social media platforms or fake news and informational websites. The FSMA specifically identified the following unauthorized entities operating without the required licenses: - Estoque Invest (website: estoque-invest.com) - Ezio Capital (website: eziocapital.com) Neither Estoque Invest nor Ezio Capital is authorized to provide investment services within Belgium. The FSMA strongly advises the public not to respond to any financial offers made by these companies and to avoid transferring funds to any bank accounts provided by them. To prevent investment fraud, the regulator advises consumers to: - Always verify the full identity of any company offering investments, including its registered office and corporate details. - Check official regulatory registers to confirm whether the firm holds the required authorizations before committing funds. - Beware of cloned firms that impersonate legitimate, licensed entities using slightly altered contact details or fake domains. - Refrain from making payments if any doubt remains regarding a firm's legitimacy. Investors who have already transferred funds or suspect they are dealing with fraudulent operators are urged to file a formal complaint with their local police or judicial authorities immediately.
