The Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) of Belgium has issued a public warning regarding the fraudulent activities of Aaron Venture Capital and Aurora Capital Venture. According to the regulator, these entities are operating irregularly within Belgian territory and are not authorized to provide investment services.
The warning specifically identifies the following entities and online domains:
- Aaron Venture Capital (aaronventurecapital.com)
- Aurora Capital Venture (auroracapitalventure.com)
The FSMA strongly advises the public against responding to any financial offers made by these companies and warns against transferring money to any bank accounts provided by them. Information gathered by the supervisory authority indicates that these operators are functioning as suspected 'boiler rooms.'
Boiler room fraud involves fraudulent entities contacting consumers—usually unsolicited and via telephone or email—with aggressive offers to buy shares or other financial instruments. While these operations present themselves as licensed firms using professional-looking websites and documents, their offers are fictitious. Victims are typically lured in with small initial investments that appear profitable very quickly. Once trust is established, scammers demand significantly larger sums. When investors attempt to withdraw their funds or profits, they face demands for additional payments, high-pressure sales tactics, and ultimate loss of their capital.
To safeguard against boiler room schemes and unauthorized brokers, the FSMA recommends checking whether a firm is authorized through official regulatory registers and consulting published warning lists before transferring any funds. Investors should remain highly skeptical of unsolicited contact (cold calling), unrealistic profit promises, offshore bank transfers, and demands for advance fees or taxes to release funds.
