The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned that an unauthorised operation called LW Management is contacting people while pretending to be the authorised firm Links Wealth Management Limited. The FCA classifies the operation as a clone firm, meaning fraudsters are using another company’s details to make the business appear genuine. The suspected clone has used the name “LW Management (Clone of FCA registered firm)” and listed an address at 27 Old Broad Street, London, EC2N 1HN. The contact details identified by the FCA include the telephone number +447441421816, the email addresses [email protected] and [email protected], and the websites lw-manage.info, lw-management.info and lw-mgmt.info. The regulator cautioned that scammers may also use other false contact details or combine them with genuine information from authorised firms. The genuine firm being impersonated is Links Wealth Management Limited, which has Financial Conduct Authority Firm Reference Number 1011435. Its listed address is Suite 3, 157 Station Road East, Oxted, Surrey, RH8 0QE, United Kingdom. The FCA said the authorised firm has no connection with the clone. Its listed telephone number is +4407535720587, its email address is [email protected], and its website is www.linkswealthmanagement.co.uk. Consumers dealing with the clone would not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service for complaints and would not be covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if the firm failed. The FCA said people who sent money to a fraudster on or after 7 October 2024 may be covered by protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator. Anyone approached should verify the business through the FCA Firm Checker and use only the contact details shown there. Suspected clone firms can be reported to the FCA on 0800 111 6768 or through its contact form.
