FCA Warns of GoTempCover Limited Clone Impersonating Accelerant Insurance UK

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned that GoTempCover Limited is an unauthorised clone firm pretending to be the authorised insurer Accelerant Insurance UK Limited. Fraudsters have been using the name GoTempCover Limited and contacting people with details that may make the operation appear genuine. The suspected clone has been linked to the email address [email protected] and the websites drivewisely.app and gotempcover.com. The FCA said fraudsters may also use other false email addresses, telephone numbers, postal addresses or Firm Reference Numbers, combine them with genuine information from authorised firms, and change their contact details over time. The genuine firm being impersonated is Accelerant Insurance UK Limited, which has FCA Firm Reference Number 207658. Its listed address is Lodge Park Business Centre, Lodge Lane, Langham, Colchester, CO4 5NE, United Kingdom. The FCA identifies its telephone number as +448000489809, its email address as [email protected], and its website as https://accelerant.ai/. The regulator said Accelerant Insurance UK Limited has no connection with the clone firm. People who deal with GoTempCover Limited may not be able to use the Financial Ombudsman Service to complain and would not be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if the firm fails. The FCA added that payments sent to a fraudster on or after 7 October 2024 may be covered by protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator, depending on the circumstances. Consumers should check firms through the FCA Firm Checker and use only the contact details listed there.
