The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned consumers about Future Growup Assets, an unauthorised firm that may be providing or promoting financial services or products in the UK without permission. The regulator says people should avoid dealing with the firm and remain alert to potential scams. The warning identifies Future Growup Assets as using the email address [email protected] and the website futuregrow-up.assets.live. The FCA notes that unauthorised firms can provide misleading contact details, change their details over time, or use information belonging to another business or individual to appear legitimate. Future Growup Assets is not authorised by the FCA and may be targeting people in the UK. Consumers who deal with the firm would not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service for complaints and would not be covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if the business failed. As a result, recovering money could be unlikely if the firm goes out of business. The FCA advises consumers to check financial firms through its Firm Checker and confirm that the firm has permission to provide the specific services being offered. Anyone contacted unexpectedly by a financial business should use the contact details listed on the Firm Checker when replying. Suspected approaches by unauthorised firms can be reported to the FCA by calling 0800 111 6768 or using its contact form. Payments sent to a scam account on or after 7 October 2024 may fall under protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator, and affected consumers should follow the regulator’s guidance on what to do after being tricked into making a payment.
