The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned consumers against dealing with adm-group.ac, adm-group.co and adm-group.cc, saying the firm may be providing or promoting financial services or products in the UK without permission. The websites named in the warning are https://adm-group.cc/ and https://adm-group.ac/, while the unauthorised firm is listed as adm-group.ac / adm-group.co / adm-group.cc.
The FCA says the firm may be targeting people in the UK. The contact details listed for the business include 20 Wenlock Road, London Hackney, N1 7GU, and [email protected]. The regulator cautions that unauthorised firms can provide incorrect or changing contact information, including addresses, phone numbers and email addresses, or use details belonging to another business or individual to appear legitimate.
Consumers who deal with the firm will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service if they need to complain. They are also unlikely to be covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) if the firm fails, making it unlikely they would recover their money in that situation. For payments sent to a scam account on or after 7 October 2024, protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator may apply, depending on the circumstances.
The FCA advises consumers to use its Firm Checker before dealing with any financial business and to confirm that a firm is authorised for the specific services it offers. Anyone contacted unexpectedly should use the contact details shown on the Firm Checker rather than relying on details supplied by the caller or website. Suspected approaches by an unauthorised firm can be reported to the FCA on 0800 111 6768 or through its contact form.
