FCA Warns Against PCPHero and motorrefunds.co.uk Clone Firm
The Financial Conduct Authority says PCPHero and motorrefunds.co.uk are impersonating an authorised firm and warns consumers not to deal with them.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned that PCPHero and motorrefunds.co.uk are an unauthorised clone firm using details linked to the authorised company BAMBOO MARKETING NW LIMITED. The website, motorrefunds.co.uk, and the email address [email protected] have been used by fraudsters contacting people while falsely presenting themselves as an authorised financial business.
The FCA said the clone is using the previous trading name of the genuine firm, but has no connection to it. BAMBOO MARKETING NW LIMITED is authorised under Firm Reference Number 930314 and is registered at Houldsworth Business & Arts Centre, Houldsworth Street, Stockport, SK5 6DA, United Kingdom. The regulator provided the genuine firm’s telephone number, +447438942513, and email address, [email protected], for verification.
Consumers who deal with the clone will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service if they need to complain. They will also not be covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS), making it unlikely they would recover money if the firm ceased operating. People who sent money to a scam account on or after 7 October 2024 may have protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator, depending on the circumstances.
The FCA advises consumers to check any financial firm through its Firm Checker and confirm that it has permission to provide the service being offered. Anyone contacted unexpectedly should use the contact details shown on the FCA’s register rather than details supplied by the caller or website. Suspected approaches by an unauthorised or clone firm can be reported to the FCA on 0800 111 6768 or through its contact form.
