The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned that tradeassetlimited.com may be providing or promoting financial services or products without permission and could be targeting people in the UK. The regulator says the firm is unauthorised and advises consumers not to deal with it.
The FCA warning lists the firm as tradeassetlimited.com, with an address at St Johns Street, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 1UU, a mobile number of +44 7721 801415, and the website www.tradeassetlimited.com. The FCA cautions that unauthorised firms may use incorrect or changing contact details, including details belonging to other businesses or individuals, so consumers should not treat the listed information as proof of legitimacy.
People who deal with an unauthorised firm will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service to pursue a complaint and will not be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if the firm fails. The FCA says it is therefore unlikely customers would recover their money in that situation. For payments made to a fraudster on or after 7 October 2024, protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator may apply.
Before responding to an unexpected approach, consumers can check whether a firm is authorised and permitted to provide the relevant service using the FCA Firm Checker, and contact authorised firms through the details listed there. Anyone who believes they have been approached by an unauthorised firm can report it to the FCA by calling 0800 111 6768 or using the regulator’s contact form.
