The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned consumers in the UK not to deal with profitaipilot.com, saying the firm is unauthorised and may be providing or promoting financial services or products without permission. The regulator says the firm may be targeting people in the UK and advises consumers to beware of scams. The FCA lists the firm’s name as profitaipilot.com, an address in the City of London and the telephone number +44 7868 141993. It also points to a Trustpilot page associated with the website. The regulator cautions that unauthorised firms may provide incorrect or changing contact details, or details belonging to another business or individual, which can make them appear genuine. Consumers who deal with an unauthorised firm will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service to complain and will not be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if the firm fails. The FCA says people who sent money to a fraudster on or after 7 October 2024 may be covered by protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator, depending on their circumstances. Before using a financial firm, consumers can check its status and permitted services through the FCA Firm Checker, and should use the contact details shown there when responding to unexpected approaches. Anyone who believes they have been contacted by an unauthorised firm can report it to the FCA on 0800 111 6768 or through the regulator’s contact form.
