The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned that Global Pip Markets is not authorised to provide or promote financial services in the UK and may be targeting people there. The regulator advises consumers to avoid dealing with the firm and beware of scams.
The FCA warning identifies Global Pip Markets at 11 Grace Avenue, STE 108, Great Neck, New York, United States, 11021. It lists the telephone number 7027064466, the email address [email protected] and the website globalpipmarkets.com. The regulator cautions that unauthorised firms may provide incorrect or changing contact details, or details belonging to another business or person, which can make them appear genuine.
Consumers who deal with a firm that is not FCA-authorised cannot access the Financial Ombudsman Service to complain and are not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). The FCA says it is unlikely customers would recover their money if the firm went out of business. People who sent money to a fraudster on or after 7 October 2024 may be covered by protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator, depending on their circumstances.
Before using a financial firm, consumers can check the FCA Firm Checker to confirm its authorisation and permission for the services offered, and to find verified contact details. Anyone contacted unexpectedly should use the details shown there to reply. Suspected approaches by unauthorised firms can be reported to the FCA by calling 0800 111 6768 or using its contact form.
