The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned that finnova-limited.com, finnova-limited.org and related websites may be providing or promoting financial services without authorisation. The regulator says the firm may be targeting people in the UK and advises consumers not to deal with it.
The warning names the firm as “finnova-limited.com / finnova-limited.org” and lists a London address, telephone number +44 1975 968284 and email address [email protected]. The websites identified include finnova-limited.com, finnova-limited.org, user.finnova-limited.org, wt.finnova-limited.org/login and user.finnova-limited.net. The FCA says it has no evidence that this unauthorised firm is associated with the UK-registered company Finnova Limited, company number 09622034.
Because the firm is not FCA-authorised, people who deal with it would not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service to pursue a complaint and would not be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme if the firm failed. The FCA says recovery of money in that situation is unlikely. People who transferred money to a scam account on or after 7 October 2024 may have protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator, depending on their circumstances.
Consumers can check a firm’s authorisation and permitted services using the FCA Firm Checker, and should use the contact details shown there when responding to an unexpected approach. Anyone who believes they have been contacted by an unauthorised firm can report it to the FCA on 0800 111 6768 or through its contact form.
