The UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned that DARIKCOIN.INFO may be providing or promoting financial services or products without permission and could be targeting people in the UK. The regulator says the firm is not authorised and advises consumers to avoid dealing with it and be alert to scams. The FCA warning identifies the business as DARIKCOIN.INFO and lists its website as darikcoin.info, telephone number as 00905365138032, email address as [email protected] and Twitter account as darikcoin. The FCA cautions that unauthorised firms may use incorrect or changing contact details, or details belonging to another business or individual, to make their claims appear genuine. Consumers who deal with an unauthorised firm do not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service to complain and are not protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) if the firm fails. The FCA says that recovery of money in that situation is unlikely. For payments made to a scam account on or after 7 October 2024, protections introduced by the Payment Systems Regulator may apply. Before using a financial business, consumers can check the FCA Firm Checker to confirm it is authorised for the services offered and to find verified contact details. The FCA advises people contacted unexpectedly to use the details shown in the checker when replying. Anyone who believes they have been approached by an unauthorised firm can contact the FCA on 0800 111 6768 or through its contact form.
