The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the United Kingdom has issued an urgent warning regarding Capital Zodiac, identifying the entity as an unauthorized clone firm. Fraudsters behind Capital Zodiac have been reaching out to prospective investors while falsely claiming to represent a legitimately regulated business. Clone firms copy and manipulate the legitimate credentials of authorized financial institutions to deceive the public into believing they are dealing with a regulated entity. The scammers behind Capital Zodiac are using deceptive contact channels and online domains to facilitate their operations. According to the FCA, the unauthorized clone firm is utilizing the following contact information: - Name: Capital Zodiac (Clone of FCA Authorised firm) - Websites: capitalzodiac.com, capitalzodiac.net - Email: [email protected] - Telephone: +33179976683 The regulator notes that the scammers may also circulate other false details, such as fake postal addresses, alternative phone numbers, or genuine Firm Reference Numbers (FRNs), and may update their contact points over time. The FCA confirmed that Capital Zodiac has no legitimate connection to the genuine, authorized firm it is impersonating. The authentic authorized firm's details are: - Firm Name: Zodiac Partners Ltd - Firm Reference Number: 806702 - Address: Dixon House, 5th floor, 1 Lloyds Avenue, London, City Of London, EC3M 5JD, United Kingdom - Telephone: +44 020 8396 6888 - Email: [email protected] Investors who engage with unauthorized clone brokers such as Capital Zodiac lose access to statutory protections, including the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). If the clone entity defrauds clients or shuts down, recovering deposited funds through standard regulatory channels is highly unlikely. Consumers are strongly urged to verify the authenticity of any financial services firm via the official FCA Register before sending money or sharing sensitive personal information. When contacted unexpectedly by a financial representative, always cross-reference communication channels with the contact information listed on the regulator's directory.
