FCA Issues Warning Against Unauthorised Entity GBP Markets
The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned the public against GBP Markets, an entity providing and promoting financial services without authorization.
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has issued an official warning regarding GBP Markets, alerting consumers that the firm is operating and promoting financial services in the United Kingdom without regulatory authorization.
Under UK law, almost all firms and individuals providing or marketing financial services must be authorized or registered by the FCA. The regulator stated that GBP Markets is not authorized to operate in the UK and may be targeting individuals across the country.
According to the regulatory notice, the firm operates through several domains, including gbpmarkets.com, gbpmarkets.io, client.gbpmarkets.io, and gbpmarkets.org. Associated telephone contact numbers include 07441981349 and +447441939090. The FCA highlighted that unauthorized entities often provide false or changing contact details, or misappropriate details belonging to genuine businesses, to appear credible.
The regulator warned consumers that engaging with unauthorized firms exposes them to significant financial risk. Investors dealing with GBP Markets will not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service for complaints and will not be protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) should the firm collapse or fail to return funds. The FCA strongly advises the public to check the Financial Services Register to verify regulatory status before entering into financial arrangements.
