CFTC and SEC Extend Compliance Date for Form PF Amendments to October 2026
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have each voted to extend the compliance date for investment advisers subject to amendments to Form PF. The joint regulators have established a new compliance deadline of October 1, 2026. Form PF is the confidential reporting document used by certain private fund advisers to submit regulatory data to federal authorities. The amended requirements for Form PF were initially adopted by the commissions in February 2024, carrying an original compliance date of March 12, 2025. Before this latest decision, the compliance deadline had previously been moved to June 12 and subsequently to October 1. The agencies stated that the further postponement to October 2026 is designed to provide sufficient time to carry out a substantive review of Form PF in alignment with a Presidential Memorandum. The regulatory bodies noted that the outcomes of this substantive review could lead to further actions, including the potential proposal of new amendments to Form PF.
