CFTC and SEC Extend Compliance Deadline for Form PF Amendments to June 2025
The CFTC and SEC have pushed back the compliance date for Form PF amendments to June 12, 2025, providing extra time for private fund filers to update reporting systems.
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), in coordination with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has announced an extension of the compliance deadline for upcoming amendments to Form PF.
The regulatory revisions, which were adopted on February 8, 2024, carried an original compliance date of March 12, 2025. Following the joint decision, the effective implementation deadline has been pushed back to June 12, 2025.
Form PF serves as a confidential reporting document for certain SEC-registered investment advisers managing private funds. The requirements also encompass fund managers dual-registered with the CFTC as commodity pool operators (CPOs) or commodity trading advisers (CTAs).
Regulators stated that the extension is intended to alleviate the technological and administrative burdens and associated costs tied to the previous schedule. The revised timeline provides market participants and filers with additional time to program, configure, and test their systems to ensure full compliance with the updated reporting framework.
