CFTC Releases Agenda for Forum on Superintelligence and U.S. Markets
The CFTC Innovation Task Force has published the agenda for its inaugural Frontier Forum, which will examine superintelligence’s potential impact on U.S. markets and responsible adoption.
The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) Innovation Task Force released the agenda on October 20, 2026, for its inaugural Frontier Forum on Super Intelligence. The forum will bring together technology and finance leaders to discuss how super intelligence is being implemented and what its spread could mean for U.S. markets and market participants.
The agenda focuses on three areas: the development and deployment of super intelligence at the frontier, its potential effects on U.S. markets, and the Commission’s role in encouraging responsible adoption and innovation while protecting market participants from emerging risks. The announcement identifies the event as a forum for discussion; it does not announce a regulatory decision or new requirements.
CFTC Chairman Michael S. Selig said the technology could transform financial markets and described the forum as an opportunity to examine both its potential and its risks. The Commission said the meeting will be streamed live on CFTC.gov. It also published telephone dial-in details for U.S. and international participants.
Michael J. Passalacqua, who leads the Innovation Task Force, is the contact for additional questions. The CFTC noted that views expressed by forum participants will be their own and will not necessarily represent the Commission, its staff or the U.S. government.
