CFTC to Launch Frontier Forum Series on Financial Market Technology
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Innovation Task Force will launch the Frontier Forum Series, a set of public roundtables examining technologies and market structures transforming U.S. financial markets. The forums will bring together participants from the public and private sectors to discuss how the CFTC can support responsible innovation while protecting market participants and maintaining the integrity and resilience of financial markets. The inaugural forum will focus on artificial intelligence and agentic finance and is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, 2026. The CFTC said the series is intended to create a public dialogue among the people building, using and studying emerging financial technologies. Chairman Michael S. Selig said rapidly advancing technology requires the Commission to engage directly with those shaping and applying it. The initiative will therefore give industry participants, researchers and other stakeholders a venue to discuss developments that could affect how financial markets operate and how regulators oversee them. The CFTC said details on the agenda, speakers and registration process will be published later. Members of the public may submit speaker nominations by email to [email protected]. In-person attendance may be limited, and visitors will be subject to security checks.
